DescriptionSummary: The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing Shipping & Receiving, Backend and Inventory Control Room all inbound and outbound operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and cost-effective movement of goods. This role manages staff, maintains inventory accuracy, enforces safety standards, and coordinates with vendors, carriers, and internal departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Manages personnel in S&R, Backend, and Inventory Control Room
- Monitor and manage budgets for S&R, Backend, and Inventory Control Room
- Provide support to operations.
- Responsible for leading, training, certification, and scheduling staff.
- Monitors and delegates meals and rest periods.
- Reviews and approves process flow and update ISO specks.
- Assist in work instructions for responsible area departments.
- Verify shipping documentation (BOLs, packing slips, export documents)
- Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations
- Monitor KPIs in productivity, accuracy, and generate reports to identify improvement programs.
- Monitor freight costs and negotiate with carriers when applicable
- Ensure customer products are handled according to customer specifications and in line with ISO standards
- Maintain accurate inventory records
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and manage relationships with shipping carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics vendors.
- Conduct cycle counts and physical inventories
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Optimize warehouse layout and storage processes
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Oversees inventory control systems (ICRS) and maintain audit readiness.
QualificationsEducation and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration and 7+ years of related experience with 5+ years of supervisory or management role and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations experience is a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple detailed oriented tasks
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Able to communicate effectively
- Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
